Moccasin Springs

Moccasin Springs is a historic natural mineral spring located in Hot Springs, South Dakota. This site has been revitalized in recent years, offering visitors a more intimate and luxurious hot springs experience. The spring water is rich with minerals.

In addition to their pools, Moccasin Springs provides spa services, yoga classes, and onsite dining. Moccasin Springs Mineral Spay exclusively serves individuals 18+.

Highland Meadows Resort sits on 12.5 acres atop a private mesa in Hot Springs, South Dakota. The resort features four private cabins, two glamping tipis, and a 2,800 sq. ft. earth home. Each cabin boasts its own gas fire pit, picnic table, bbq grill, and Adirondacks. In the warmer season, each is complete with a hammock.

The ponderosa pines and deciduous trees provide a canopy for relaxing and rejuvenating.

Highland Meadows Resort is located just 1 mile from Moccasin Springs Natural Mineral Spa and is right next door to Evan's Plunge.

FlatIron

TYPE: BOUTIQUE HOTEL DOWNTOWN

Built in 1911, the FlatIron was originally known as The Gibson House — and is reminiscent of the Flatiron in Manhattan, NY with its triangular footprint. This two-story hotel is one of many historic sandstone buildings located in the commercial district of Hot Springs, SD.

This boutique hotel features six en-suites, three separate sleeping rooms, a shared courtyard, off-street parking, and a shared library. It was most recently known as the FlatIron Historic Sandstone Inn. Today it's simply FlatIron.

​

The FlatIron is within walking distance of Moccasin Springs Natural Mineral Spa and Evans Plunge.

Cascade Springs

Located a few miles southwest of Hot Springs, SD, Cascade Springs features a series of small waterfalls and pools formed by warm spring water. The spring water emerges from the ground at a fairly constant temperature of about 67°F (19°C) year-round. While not as hot as some of the springs directly in Hot Springs, Cascade Springs is a popular spot for soaking and swimming.

 

The area around Cascade Springs also offers hiking trails and picnic spots — a more rustic environment compared to the developed springs within city limits.

Evans Plunge

WATER TEMPERATURE: 87°

Evans Plunge is the oldest tourist attraction in the Black Hills. Opened in 1890, it's named after its founder, Fred Evans. The facility is built directly over the natural springs, which pump out 5,000 gallons of fresh water per minute at a constant temperature of 87°F (30.5°C). Evans Plunge features a large indoor pool fed by these mineral springs as well as well as water slides.

 

The water is rich in minerals and constantly flowing, which means no chlorine is needed. In addition to swimming and soaking, visitors can enjoy a steam room, dry sauna, and fitness center.
